Choose how hard Synorigin looks. Not every idea needs the same amount of searching. Every check runs at one of three depths — none is an older version of another. They are three levels of effort.
A fast first look. A lighter search, good for testing a rough concept, comparing a few variations, or deciding whether an idea is worth developing further. Uses 1 check.
The default, and the right depth for most ideas. A fuller search across published work, with the closest matches, where your idea overlaps them, and one concrete change that could set it apart. Uses 1 check.
For ideas that matter most. Quarry searches from four required angles, looks for structural matches in other fields — a story whose mechanism already exists as a game, a product whose premise already exists as a service — and reports more matches. Before it suggests a change, it searches that change too, so it does not hand you a “fresh” direction that is already taken. Uses 2 checks.
Start with Fathom. Use Vantage when you are exploring quickly. Use Quarry before you commit time or money to an idea, or when Fathom finds nothing close and you want to be sure.
Vantage and Quarry are included with Pro. The First Check runs at Fathom.
